SaaSValuation.io Multiple Index
Our own live SaaS revenue-multiple benchmark. Each month we take the median revenue multiple of the public SaaS companies we track, for all companies and for every category. The most recent “All” value is the base multiple used by our valuation calculator.

What is the SaaSValuation.io Multiple Index?
The index tracks how the public market values every dollar of SaaS revenue. For each company we compute a revenue multiple market capitalization ÷ annualized revenue and the index for a given month is the median of those multiples. We use the median rather than the average so that a handful of extreme outliers (a hyper-growth infrastructure name, or a temporarily depressed stock) cannot distort the benchmark.
How it is calculated
- Market cap is measured on the last trading day of each month, using the point-in-time share count and closing price.
- Revenue is the most recently reported quarter, annualized (× 4), consistent with the multiples shown on our public SaaS valuations table.
- We compute the median for the whole universe (All) and separately for each category, so you can compare how Infrastructure, Front Office, Back Office and other segments are valued.
Why we built our own index
Public benchmarks are only refreshed occasionally and drift out of date. Because we already track prices and SEC financials for a broad set of public SaaS companies, we can derive our own base multiple that updates automatically every month. The most recent All value (4.81×) is what the calculator starts from before applying premiums and discounts for growth, margins, retention and other quality factors.
