Company Overview

PagerDuty, Inc. is a leading digital operations management platform that helps organizations detect, triage, mobilize, and resolve critical business-impacting incidents in real time. Founded in 2009 by Alex Solomon, Baskar Puvanathasan, and Andrew Miklas, and headquartered in San Francisco, California, PagerDuty pioneered modern incident management by replacing legacy alerting systems with an intelligent, automated operations platform used by engineering, IT, security, and customer service teams.

The PagerDuty Operations Cloud ingests signals from virtually any monitoring, observability, and ticketing tool — including Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch, Nagios, and Zendesk — and uses event intelligence (machine learning-based noise reduction, alert correlation, and root cause analysis) to cut through alert storms, suppress duplicates, and surface only actionable incidents to the right on-call responder. Automated escalation policies, on-call scheduling, and multi-channel notifications (push, SMS, phone, Slack, Microsoft Teams) ensure that critical issues are addressed within minutes.

Beyond core incident response, PagerDuty has expanded into AIOps, process automation (via the acquisition of Rundeck), customer operations (status pages and stakeholder communication), and workflow automation. PagerDuty Automation Actions enables responders to run diagnostic and remediation scripts directly from the incident timeline, reducing mean time to resolution. PagerDuty Copilot brings generative AI to incident management with automated postmortems, status update drafting, and remediation suggestions.

PagerDuty serves over 29,000 customers, including approximately 65% of the Fortune 100, across technology, financial services, retail, healthcare, and government sectors. The company generates approximately $450 million in annual revenue, with a subscription model driving over 95% recurring revenue. Gross margins exceed 85%. PagerDuty employs approximately 1,200 people globally and has become a critical component of modern DevOps, SRE, and ITOps practices.
