Shlomi Ben Haim, Yoav Landman, and Fred Simon founded it in 2008 in Sunnyvale, California, with major R&D in Israel. The mission is "Liquid Software," the idea of frictionless, secure, continuous software updates flowing to any device.

The platform centers on Artifactory, the industry's leading universal binary repository manager. It supports over 30 package formats including Docker, Maven, npm, PyPI, Go, and Helm. Artifactory serves as the single source of truth for all software artifacts across the development lifecycle. Other products include Xray for vulnerability detection in software components, Distribution for global release management, Pipelines for CI/CD orchestration, and Connect for delivering updates to IoT and edge devices.

JFrog integrates with every major CI/CD tool (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and cloud provider. It's available as SaaS and self-hosted. The company expanded into software supply chain security with Advanced Security, which combines static analysis, secrets detection, contextual CVE analysis, and infrastructure-as-code scanning to protect software from source to runtime.

Over 7,600 customers use JFrog, including roughly 85% of the Fortune 100. Millions of developers interact with the platform worldwide. Annual revenue is approximately $600 million. Cloud revenue is growing quickly and represents a significant share. Gross margins run about 78%. The company has around 1,400 employees globally.
