It cited customer wins including Albertsons, Cox Automotive, Cuscal, Guidewire, Hopin, Lululemon Athletica, Saviynt, Shopify, and Truist Financial. It featured case studies from Guidewire and SPS Commerce. Risks include the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the ability to achieve and maintain future profitability, the ability to attract new customers and retain and sell additional functionality to existing customers, the ability to sustain and manage growth, dependence on revenue from a single product, competition, and general market, political, economic, and business conditions. The company also noted that virtual-only events and sales interactions may be less effective than in-person events, and that small and medium business demand may remain variable. PagerDuty's MD&A also mentions that it has begun to release travel restrictions and has extended paid time off and sick leave benefits for employees affected by COVID-19.

Risks

MEDIUMMacroeconomic

MD&A states the continued impact of COVID-19 remains uncertain and could affect customers, sales cycles, partners, and vendors, with greater variability in demand from small and medium business customers. The company also continues to have most employees work remotely.

MEDIUMSales Cycle

Because of COVID-19, the company shifted to virtual-only events, including its Summit conference series, and cannot predict whether virtual marketing events and phone or virtual sales interactions will be as successful as in-person events, potentially constraining customer sign-ups and lead generation.

MEDIUMMargin Pressure

For the quarter ended October 31, 2021, cost of revenue increased 57% while revenue increased 33%, and gross margin declined to 83% from 86%, which could pressure profitability if cost growth continues to outpace revenue growth.
